There will be no charge for attendance and lunch will be included. We're working on a great lineup of speakers for the day. If you are interested in giving a presentation at the conference, please contact Jenny Sorensen (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Our speaker lineup this year is great. During our morning session, Esri will be presenting their "Sharpen Your GIS Skills" seminar. This seminar, which has been offered across the country this fall, is only being offered in South Dakota at our conference. We've got so much information to present that the afternoon session of the conference will be two concurrent sessions.
Please plan to network with both our exhibitors and other conference attendees - this is a great opportunity to meet new people and find out answers to those questions that you just can't seem to get resolved.
The conference is also a documented educational opportunity. For you engineers, surveyors, and GISP certificate holders, we will be offering 5.5 PDHs (professional development hours) and a certificate of attendance. The PDH/attendance form will be available for you to take with you.
There will be a student poster contest held in the observation area. We will have nomination forms available for attendees to vote on the top three posters Winners will be announced during the afternoon break. Students need not be present to win. Prizes will be $200 for first prize, $100 for second prize, and $100 for third prize. Students, please contact Jim Sanovia (email@example.com) to submit your GIS-related posters and maps.
We'll also have a display area for maps and posters not included in the student poster contest. Please bring your latest maps for display and sharing at the conference.
Exhibiting, which includes a table in the vendor area and logo in the program and on the sponsor board, is $100. Conference sponsorship, which includes your logo in the program and on the sponsor board is $50. If you would like to be an exhibitor or sponsor, please fill out and return this registration form.
The Black Hills Digital Mapping Association is looking for nominations for the following positions on the board:
Your suggestions for nominations are greatly appreciated. Please submit nominations to Jenny Sorensen (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Looking forward to seeing you at the conference!
The Black Hills Digital Mapping Association originated in the early 1990's because of a need for the development of digital data in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Geographic Information System base data layers were desired, and coordination and sharing of funds between local counties, the state, the US Forest Service, and the USGS enabled the creation of these digital products. The group continues to meet on a regular basis (one to two times per year) because there is a strong desire among members to learn about new technologies, learn how GIS projects are being implemented in this region, receive training, and learn about data sharing opportunities.
The organization registered with the State of South Dakota as a non-profit corporation in 2005. The membership base includes representatives from all levels of government (Federal, State, County, and City) and the private sector, and includes over 100 members.
