Hutchinson-Turner County Study
Project Description
Surficial geologic mapping done by a previous geologist is currently being changed to our standard naming convention, and geologic contacts are being proofed by field visits and satellite imagery.
The Hutchinson-Turner County Study has been the culmination of many years and has undergone numerous changes of possession, which has made data assimilation and revisions difficult due to the work done by numerous geologists. Aquifer, bedrock, and surface geology maps have been drafted by various geologists across both counties, but verification of the drafted maps is needed for the current project geologist.
A few more Hutchinson County test-holes will be drilled in early summer of 2021, with the final revisions of all Hutchinson-Turner County Study maps/reports occurring post-drilling. The county study project for these two combined counties will be complete before the summer of 2022.
Extensive aquifers are present underneath both Hutchinson and Turner county and their aerially extent is currently being reviewed for accuracy.
