McPherson County Study

Project Description

The McPherson County study is an ongoing project to map the ground water and geologic resources of the county. The result of this study will be a set of maps and publications documenting the potential resources of the county. These maps will be supplemented by a report further detailing geologic and ground water resources within the county. Data is compiled through a series of field techniques, primarily drilling test holes and installing observation wells. Other techniques include field surveys and GIS analysis to supplement the drilling activities. This work will be combined with historical data to produce various types of maps including, bedrock, surface geology, and aquifer maps.

Following is a map showing the locations of anticipated test hole drilling in the next two years.
